HBO has begun filming the Harry Potter series and has shown the first photo of the eponymous character from the set.
In late May, HBO announced that Dominic McLaughlin will play Harry, Arabella Stanton will play Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout will play Ron Weasley.
“The creation of the HBO original series “Harry Potter“ has begun at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, UK“, said a statement from the Warner Bros. conglomerate. Discovery on its website.
The press release also includes a photo of McLaughlin, dressed in a black robe in the style of the character from “Harry Potter“, wearing the recognizable glasses. The website notes that the series will premiere in 2027.
The main cast of adult characters was confirmed in April. Emmy Award winner John Lithgow will play Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore. Black actor Paapa Esiedu will play Professor Severus Snape, and actor Nick Frost will play the gamekeeper Hagrid. The role of Professor Minerva McGonagall will be played by Oscar nominee Janet McTeer, actor Luke Tallon will play Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse will play Keeper Argus Filch.
The idea of the television company HBO is to adapt each of the seven novels by the British writer J. K. Rowling about Harry Potter in the form of a television season.
