The daughter of Max Cavalera, longtime frontman of SOULFLY and SEPULTURA, Christina, has died after a long battle with a serious illness.
The family of Max and Gloria Cavalera confirmed the sad news today, February 11.
Christina was an important figure in the family's musical life, working behind the scenes on tours and concerts around the world. She was the mother of four and the sister of musicians Igor, Zion and Richie Cavallera.
This is another difficult tragedy for Max Cavallera, who over the years lost his stepson Dana Wells in 1996, his grandson Moses (Christina's son) in 2004 and his mother Vanya Cavallera in 2023.
Max wrote: “It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that Max, Gloria and the entire Cavallera family announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister and mother Christina. After a long battle with illness, she found peace with her two sons, Adam and Moses, and her brother Dana. She is survived by her two daughters, her six brothers (Nick, Jonathan, Richie, Jason, Zion and Igor) and her sister Roxanne.
Christina will forever be remembered as a pioneer in the world of metal, punk and rock music, working from the underground to stadiums and arenas around the world, as well as an inspiration and life-changing figure for women in the music business.
She had a smile that could light up any room, an unparalleled passion for life and a fierce spirit that made her remarkable and memorable. Those who met her know this to be true. We will miss you forever, Christina. Please respect our peace and privacy during this difficult time and our journey forward without her.“
