A third kitten has taken up residence at 10 Downing Street

Prince is now sleeping on the British Prime Minister's desk

Siberian kitten Prince is now part of the “Downing Street” 10 after long negotiations between British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his children, reports the German edition “Spiegel“, quoted by bTV.

Starmer personally announced to the British journalists that they have a new four-legged friend. Prince is still a baby, so he often sits at the Prime Minister's desk, and even got into the frame during official photos.

On “Downing Street” 10 already live three kittens – Larry (lived there for 13 years), Jojo (arrived with the Starmers) and Prince (adopted this summer).

British Prime Minister Starmer's children originally wanted a German Shepherd, but their father refused because he was worried that a dog would take up too much space in the family's rather small apartment. Then he, his children and his wife managed to agree on Prince.

Keir Starmer told the BBC that his main concern before the election was the impact his new post would have on his two children: “It is a big step for them. That's why adopting this fantastic kitten named Prince was part of the deal I had to make with them.

The only difficulty in adopting the Siberian kitten was related to the high level of security at the government headquarters.

„We had the same problem with Jojo when we moved to “Downing Street” 10 – he loved going in and out of our old home, but here the only door to our new apartment is bomb proof. Installing a small cat door is a difficult task”, announced the Prime Minister of Great Britain.

However, his children stated that the problem was the same whether there was one cat or two.

Larry the cat, who has lived for years in the building, the seat of the British government, has already met Keir Starmer several times. It is difficult for him to be impressed by new people, because he has already replaced six prime ministers, writes in the “Daily Mail”.

Now all eyes are on the third kitten in the government suite. In recent days, the British media has been talking about all the gifts the Starmer family has been getting for Prince the kitten.
