The people in GERB have one last chance to save the final dishonor of their party after Borisov's irresponsible outbursts and calls that their ministers no longer had any commitment, and work on the budget had stopped.
Now is the time for Rosen Zhelyazkov to force his ministers to work until the new ones are sworn in, and for the deputies not to listen to their parliamentary boss and party leader, so that the work on the budget can be completed. They simply need to show that they care, if their leader does not.
Because if anyone "boycotts" the eurozone and brings chaos, it is clearly Borisov. He must be blamed by his own party and the moment to fire him is perfect. This is also their final opportunity to show some self-respect. If they let the last word be his now - goodbye forever.
Every time Borisov is forced to step down from power, we see the most repulsive face of GERB. Boycott of parliamentary sessions since the "Oresharski" era, then a bunch of sly tricks during the time of the naive Kiril Petkov, now a call for a boycott of the budget, the preparation of which was delayed for several months, until at the last moment they proposed one that brought people to the squares all over the country.
What should Borisov's words tell us? That he never really cared about the people, least of all those he threw from the jeep, but besides that, we see that he enjoys taking revenge on them when he can. Now he is punishing those who expected an increase in income - including his voters.
In this way, GERB is heading towards its demise, no matter what "maneuver" the Bank's Dad may come up with. Even if he officially resigns, or even if he truly forgets about politics, no one will believe that he is not keeping his successors on a short leash and not getting them used to the magnolia.
All this condemns the party to zero chance of restarting without him. His legacy is too heavy. "GERB New Beginning" will not work. The chance of the honest people in the party leadership, who have endured humiliation from their boss for many years, is to make him a spectacular and ostentatious November 10th. But one that really makes his jaw drop, and not directed by him himself.
Then GERB will have some chance to remain in active politics, and not like its tenants from the UDF. If not - history will welcome it.
