How did it happen that Dzhevdet Chakarov suddenly became the (un)necessary… Did he turn out to be unnecessary for Dogan's DPS by his own will in order to become necessary for Peevski's DPS? Delyan Peevski is now the sole leader of DPS, which means that he is also the owner of the party's brand. And all this became a fact after Dzhevdet Chakarov, who headed Ahmed Dogan's faction, resigned. Thus, DPS is left with only one chairman – Delyan Peevski.

What happened
Chakarov's decision to step down from office became a fact days after his son was indicted and the companies he was involved in were seized.
Chakarov's switch to Peevski's side happened in the same way – as mayors from Dogan's MRF did – “voluntarily“.

The move of the “DPS - New Beginning” press center was also interesting, because they distributed a photo of Chakarov and Peevski shaking hands, and the message read that “the two had a thorough and constructive conversation, in which they decided that the page of disunity and confrontation should be closed”.
Of course, the deputies from the parliamentary group of DPS-Dogan opposed this and announced that there would be no unification. But facts are facts. The DPS brand is already owned by Delyan Peevski.

Chakarov's withdrawal was a clear and categorical move on Peevski's part to close the page of opposition. MRF is now only one - “New Beginning“.

In reality, the person in the ranks of MRF around Dogan, whose signature had weight and significance, was that of Dzhevd et Chakarov – in his capacity as co-chairman. When you “attract“ the person with the signature to your side, the other side feels relieved. In Dogan's MRF, they understand Chakarov's action very well, because they say that “the decision is his and is a sole act“. There are no attacks, no insults, just a statement of fact. But the fact, in itself, carries much more for Delyan Peevski, because in Dogan's MRF there is no longer a person whose signature has weight and significance.

Chakarov became an independent MP, and his place as chairman of the group was taken by Hayri Sadakov, who is currently the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly. But does this matter now, since it is clear who the MRF brand is in? It remains to be seen how much weight the new MRF will have in the next elections.
