Zhelyazkov's scandalous reactions - within just a day - to two serious geopolitical events show once again that he is not a real prime minister of Bulgaria, but just another "person for hire" in front of the West.
Borisov and then Peevski - after Borisov's complete discrediting - learned to use such individuals who sided with the mafia in the desire for a quick political career. True - after Boyko Borisov's first cabinet, they sharply decreased; so recruitment from the SDS, DSB, Kuneva's Movement was necessary; or simply - professionals with ambition in politics. It's unlikely - anyone has any illusions about who he actually serves.
So Zhelyazkov - Borisov's confidant since his mayoral period and his avatar in the Kostinbrod affair - is clearly tasked with covering up all the blunders.
I won't go back to reminding people from the very beginning of his term of office about smuggling channels; prosecutorial raids; budget tricks to empty the treasury. Let's just see the last day.
In a parliamentary response to the case of Layen's plane - he poured out all sorts of technical information that everything was fine with the landing and there was no point in investigating. To hide the answer to the authentic question:
Even if there was no flight at all - the fact of jamming the GPS signal has been proven. There is no way to establish without an investigation that this was accidental and was not planned by a foreign power that could do it again.
Do you know why information was first submitted to the EC - in their words - that Russia was behind the case, and now it has no connection at all?
Because in the meantime, the resignation of Peevski's nominee for head of DANS was requested. And if it was Russia - the question arises why DANS did nothing! And this interferes with Peevski's "business".
Although drastically different - the reasons for the same "unnecessary" reaction of Zhelyazkov to the "Zafirov in China" case are exactly the same.
There is no way that Zhelyazkov did not know about this prepared visit. Because there is no way that a simple.. party leader was invited to a meeting of states. But first, GERB, understand Peevski, do not want to strain their relations with the BSP when power is at stake.
And secondly - most importantly - they do not care about the image of Bulgaria as long as it does not affect them personally.
And that is why Zhelyazkov is always in a position to defend, justify, and ignore any blunder - but never to take him seriously as an authentic prime minister.
