CSKA (Sf) achieved its first victory this season in the First Football League, and it came very hard in the 8th round - 3:1 over Septemvri (Sf) at the National Stadium "Vasil Levski".
"The Army" achieved success with the goals of Petko Panayotov and Mohamed Brahimi, which fell in the added time of the match. Otherwise, an early goal by Lumbard Delova, who scored behind the center line, gave the team an advantage. Septemvri equalized in the 83rd minute through Bertrand Fourier, but the two late goals ensured the first success of Dušan Kerkez's team. With 7 points, they have climbed to 10th place in the standings, while Septemvri are 12th with 6.
The two teams, who are in the relegation zone, started with a double-edged sword, with two attacks for CSKA and one for Septemvri in the first 10 minutes. In one, Leandro Godoy even scored the ball into Septemvri's goal, but the offside was too big. In the 12th minute, however, CSKA opened the scoring in a rather curious way. Central defender Lumbard Delova kicked a long ball deep from his own half. The ball flew over goalkeeper Yanko Georgiev, who tried to return and stop the shot, but only fell with the ball into the goal. For the "army" This is the second such goal in a row after James Eto'o's against Slavia, but then the match remained tied.
In the 19th minute, Kevin Doday was brought into a clear position 12 meters from the goal line and could have scored, but sent the ball out. 10 minutes later, however, September managed to score after Galin Ivanov passed to Bertrand Fourier, and the striker sent the ball into the net. However, referee Martin Markov was stopped by the people in the video assistance room (VAR), who sent him to see the whole situation on the monitor next to the pitch. There, he was shown the footage that Fourier committed a foul when taking the ball from Adrian Lapeña and the referee disallowed the goal.
At the beginning of the second half, September tried to attack, Clery Cerber found Bertrand Fourier, but his shot went wide of the post. CSKA responded with a long-range shot by Jordao, which was no problem for the goalkeeper. In the 75th minute, substitute Ioannis Pitas got away with a very beautiful goal, controlling a pass from Skarshem with his back to the goal and shooting instantly from the air, but it was inaccurate.
However, in the 84th minute, September equalized with Bertrand Fourier's fifth goal of the season. Martin Hristov sent the ball to the top post, intercepting a cross from the left from a foul, and CSKA's defense did not orient itself. Fourier controlled the ball, adjusted it and, turning, sent it into the top left corner of the goal. Captain Lapeña was on the goal line to secure the goalkeeper Lapouhov, who had come out, but he turned out to be too short to stop it with his head.
In the 86th minute, CSKA could have regained the lead, but Lapeña missed from 2 meters to score. Ivan Tasev met a cross from a corner kick with a volley, goalkeeper Georgiev saved with difficulty. However, the ball went to Lapeña, who was unable to overcome the experienced goalkeeper.
Luck smiled at the army players in the last of the five added minutes. Bruno Jordao won a foul, and Petko Panayotov's performance left no chance for goalkeeper Yanko Georgiev, entering literally to the right post.
Immediately after the kick-off, Septemvri's players rushed to the CSKA goal, but the hosts launched a counterattack, in which Brahimi was brought into a clear position. Ioan Baurenski was unable to catch up with him and the winger sent the ball into Septemvri's goal for the third time.
