The legends of world football who wore the team of the London giant Chelsea – Marcel Desai, Claude Makelele and Roberto Di Matteo, showed great respect for Bulgaria. This happened around the charity match between the legends of Chelsea and Liverpool, played on Saturday.

The match ended with a victory for the Merseysiders, who prevailed 1:0 at "Stamford Bridge" through a goal by Ryan Babel. Football traveler Kiril Evtimov, who was a special guest for the match, managed to surprise Desai, Makelele and Di Matteo with gifts and souvenirs from Bulgaria. All three were happy to pose with the gifts they received.

World champion Marcel Desai immediately recognized Kiril Evtimov. The two have seen each other before at big matches, and now the Bulgarian has gifted the legendary Frenchman a bottle of Bulgarian wine.

Di Matteo, for his part, sent special greetings to our former national team player Petar Alexandrov, from whom he has pleasant memories of their time together in the Swiss team “Aarau“.

In addition to them, the native financier managed to meet a large part of the former stars of both teams at a special VIP after-party, organized immediately after the end of the match. The most interesting thing there was about Diego Costa, who, realizing that he had a Bulgarian in front of him, immediately asked about Stoichkov and Vlado Manchev. It was Stoichkov who gave way to the then young Costa, while he was the coach of Celta, and Manchev was his teammate.

Evtimov also ran into Celestin Babayaro, who played against Bulgaria in the match at the World Cup in France in 1998. Then Nigeria beat us 1-0. The defender, who made a career at Chelsea and Newcastle, was shocked after Evtimov told him that since then our national team has not qualified for another World Cup. "You're kidding me, right," Babayaro told Evtimov.
