The match between Standard Liege and Antwerp from the 11th round of the Belgian championship was abandoned three minutes before the end with a score of 1:0 for the hosts. The reason - unacceptable behavior by Standard fans, Gong.bg reported.

The match was temporarily stopped twice due to objects being thrown onto the field. In the third incident - after a plastic cup flew onto the field - the head referee Lothar D'Onde decided to stop the match and sent the players to the locker rooms.

The remaining minutes are expected to be played on another date, most likely behind closed doors. Bulgarian international Rosen Bozhinov remained on the bench for the visitors from Antwerp.

Standard Liege took the lead through Rafiki Said. In the 12th minute, Adnan Abid's goal was disallowed for offside. Shortly before the break, the hosts were left with a man less after Abid received a direct red card - a decision that caused a violent reaction from the audience.

The provisional standings in the Belgian championship are headed by Union Saint-Gilois with 23 points. Second is Club Brugge with 20. Standard Liege is in 12th place with 11 points - the same number as Antwerp, which is in 13th position.
