Champion Bayern Munich defeated Borussia Dortmund 2:1 at home in a match from the seventh round in the German football championship, BTA reported.
Bayern collected 21 points and increased its lead at the top of the provisional standings to 5 ahead of second-placed RB Leipzig, who have 16. Borussia Dortmund suffered their first loss of the season in the Bundesliga and dropped to fourth place with 14 points, the same as fifth-placed Bayer Leverkusen.
The hosts took the lead in the 22nd minute, when Joshua Kimmich sent the ball into the penalty area with a wonderful cross from a corner kick and Harry Kane jumped over Borussia's defenders to head home for 1:0. Michael Oliseh hit the post for Bayern in the 36th minute, and four minutes later Luis Diaz and then Kimmich also failed to score after the visitors' goalkeeper Gregor Kobel intervened in time.
Borussia Dortmund came close to equalizing in the 49th minute after a header by Julian Ryerson, and in the 65th Karim Adeyemi also missed a chance for the visitors.
Bayern Munich reached their second goal in the 79th minute when Michael Oliseh took advantage of a mistake in the opponent's defense and scored to make it 2-0, and shortly after coming off the bench Julian Brandt reduced the Dortmund team's deficit to 1-2 in the 84th minute, taking advantage of an excellent pass from Ryerson. In the fifth minute of added time, Kobel prevented a third goal in his own goal after a shot by Luis Diaz.
