The Goztepe team, led by Stanimir Stoilov, suffered its first loss in the Turkish Super League, after losing to Alanyaspor 0:1 on their away trip, BTA reported.
The only goal for the hosts was scored by defender Umit Akdag in the 84th minute of the match. The former CSKA 1948 defender Eliton played the entire match for the team from Izmir.
This was the first defeat for Goztepe, which so far had 4 wins and 4 draws in the championship. The team from Izmir dropped to 4th place in the standings, having been overtaken by Gaziantep.
In the next round, Göztepe will visit the champion Galatasaray in Istanbul.
