Nice president Fabrice Boquet commented on the words of coach Frank Heiss, who revealed that he offered to leave after the heavy 1:5 loss to Marseille. Heiss stated that the club is ready to release him without resigning - a move that would cost serious compensation, since his contract runs until 2029.
Boquet confirmed to “L’Équipe” that he was aware of the offer. “I was neither shocked nor angry. He offered to leave, but I did not agree“, said the president.
Sporting director Florian Morris also expressed the same opinion. The three held a meeting to discuss how to turn the negative streak around.
“We have a lot of work ahead of us. The winter transfer window can help, but it is not the solution to all the problems,“ added Boke.
