Yordan Yovchev failed to enter the Executive Committee of European Gymnastics

The Olympic vice-champion in rings and Secretary General of the Bulgarian Gymnastics Federation Yordan Yovchev failed to enter the Executive Committee of European Gymnastics. However, Hristiyana Todorova was elected for a new mandate as a member of the Technical Committee of Rhythmic Gymnastics of the European Gymnastics Congress in the Czech capital Prague, BTA reports. The Bulgarian received the highest score of 17 votes. Todorova is a bronze medalist with the Bulgarian ensemble from the Olympic Games in Rio 2016.

„I am very excited! It is a huge privilege and honor for me to be re-elected as a member of the Technical Committee of European Gymnastics and with such trust. This is a recognition that we are moving in the right direction, but also a reminder that the responsibility is becoming even greater", she said on the BFHG Facebook page.
Eliso Bedoshvili from Georgia was re-elected as president of the Technical Committee for Rhythmic Gymnastics at European Gymnastics. She was the only candidate and will take up her second consecutive mandate.

Bedoshvili is an international judge with the highest category “Breve“ and a long-time expert in the technical development of rhythmic gymnastics.
The President of the Aerobics Union, Dimitrina Kandeva, was also re-elected for a new mandate as a member of the Technical Committee for Sports Aerobics. Todorova and Kandeva are vice-presidents of the respective committees.

The fact that she won the most votes is the clearest proof of her immense dedication and professionalism during the previous term. A special guest of the Congress is the President of the Bulgarian Trampoline Federation Stoyan Dimitrov, and the leader of the Bulgarian delegation is Krasimir Dunev, President of the Bulgarian Gymnastics Federation.

The international judge and teacher at the NSA “Vasil Levski“ Iliya Yanev was not elected as a member of the Technical Committee for Artistic Gymnastics, as well as the international judge Daniela Velcheva for the one for Artistic Acrobatics.

Neviana Vladinova had to withdraw her candidacy for the UEG Control Body, as she is on the Athletes' Commission of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG).

Farid Gaibov from Azerbaijan was re-elected as President of European Gymnastics. He defeated his Croatian opponent Mario Vukoja by 27 votes to 23.
The vote confirms the confidence in his management so far and sets a clear direction for the development of European gymnastics in the coming years.
