Botev (Pd) defeated Cherno More 2:1 in a match from the 17th round of the First League, and the coach of the "Canaries" Dimitar Dimitrov-Hero achieved his first victory at the helm of the team. Franklin Mascotte and Lucas Araujo scored for Plovdiv, and the honorary goal for the guests was the work of Vasil Panayotov, BTA reports.
Botev (Pd) started strongly and took the lead in the score in the 10th minute. Todor Nedelev and Nikola Iliev played on the right, after which a cross followed to Franklin Mascotte in the penalty area, who overtook Zhivko Atanasov and headed the ball into the net of Kristian Tomov - 1:0.
Cherno More responded immediately with an opportunity before Berk Beyhan, but the home team's goalkeeper Daniel Naumov saved.
The pace of play gradually slowed down and both teams relied on one-on-ones. In the 39th minute, Cherno more had a claim for a penalty. Celso Sidney fired a shot that met the hand of Ivaylo Videv, but referee Marian Grebencharski signaled for the game to continue.
Immediately after the resumption of play, Cherno more could have equalized, but an individual breakthrough by Georgi Lazarov ended with an inaccurate shot.
The home team increased their lead through substitute Lucas Araujo in the 69th minute, who scored seconds after entering the field. The Brazilian took advantage of an assist from Oko-Flex, and the goal was his first since 2022 - 2:0.
Cherno more returned to the match with a goal by Vasil Panayotov. He scored in the 77th minute after an assist from Assen Chandarov. In the fourth minute of added time, Oko-Flex scored a third goal for Botev, but the referee canceled it after consulting VAR. The reason was a handball by Dimitar Mitkov during the build-up to the attack.
