Gymnasts with Down syndrome took a special part in the rhythmic gymnastics tournament for the "Adriana Dunavska" prize, which was held in the training hall of "Arena 8888" in Sofia, BTA reports.
The competitors from the Federation of Adapted Physical Activity Bulgaria - Dilyana Popova, Vasilena Bogdanova, Tomislava Stoyanova and Ivana Kirilova, presented their routines with confidence and a sincere desire to show talent, courage and love for the sport.
Their participation was even more emotional, as the tournament, organized by the CSKA rhythmic gymnastics club, celebrated the 70th anniversary of its establishment.
The gymnasts used the performance as part of their preparation for the World Championships for Athletes with Down Syndrome. The championship will include five sports - artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, tennis, table tennis and athletics, and will be held in Sofia from June 15-19, 2026.
