Bulgarian youth international Kristian Irmiev scored one of the goals for his team Cologne in the victory over Midtjylland 4:1 in a match of the youth Champions League playoffs.
Thus the German team under 19 qualified for the group stage, after the first match between the two teams had ended 1:1.
Irmiev started as an inside midfielder in the scheme of the "goats" and in the 50th minute made the score 2:1 for Cologne, after scoring after an assist from Benjamin Ley. The Bulgarian played the entire match, receiving a yellow card in the last minute.
Irmiev earned this honor after winning the junior Bundesliga with Cologne last season. The midfielder is from Blagoevgrad and is the son of former Pirin defender Velik Irmiev. The talent revealed in an interview for the Bulgarian Football Union website that his dream is to play for Barcelona one day.
