Voltemade scored an own goal in a 0-1 loss against regional rivals Sunderland in the last round, but today the German international got his revenge. He scored in the fourth and 20th minute for Newcastle, who, however, failed to maintain their lead after half-time.
Reece James reduced the deficit for Chelsea from a free kick in the 49th minute, and Joao Pedro took advantage of a mistake in the home team's defense and scored for 2-2 after just over an hour of play. Thus, the "Blues" continued their unbeaten streak in a third consecutive match and occupy fourth position with 29 points. Newcastle are six points behind in 11th place.
