With goals at the end of both halves, Bayer Leverkusen prevailed 3:1 over RB Leipzig in the derby of the 15th round of the German Bundesliga, BTA reported.

"The Aspirins" scored twice in the last five minutes of the first half and at the end of added time in the second to record their ninth victory of the season and overtake their rival in third place in the standings. Both teams have 29 points, but thanks to Montrel Kulbreth's goal, which shaped the final score, Bayer overtook RB.

The match started positively for the hosts from Leipzig, who took the lead in the 35th minute through Schafer Schlager, but Bayer Leverkusen turned it around in just four minutes. In the 40th minute, Martin Terrier equalized for 1:1, and in the 44th minute, Patrick Schick was accurate for 2:1.

In the second half, both teams had many chances to score, but one fell only in overtime, when Kulbreth took advantage of the thinned ranks of the "bulls" in defense and from close range scored for the final 3:1.

Both Bayer and RB are three points behind second-placed Borussia Dortmund and nine points behind champions Bayern Munich, who visit Heidenheim on Sunday.
