Manchester United dramatically defeated Arsenal 3:2 away in the derby of the 23rd round of the English Premier League and moved closer to the top three in the standings, BTA reported.

"The Red Devils" achieved their first victory against the "gunners" in North London since 2018, while the hosts continue to lead with 50 points, 4 more than Manchester City and Aston Villa.

In the 29th minute, the Londoners took the lead after an own goal by Lisandro Martinez, who failed to handle Martin Odegaard's pass to Jurien Timber. Eight minutes later, Brian Mbemo capitalised on a mistake by Martin Subimendi to equalise.

In the 50th minute, Patrick Dorgu fired a beautiful long-range shot to put the 20-time champions ahead. The Gunners pressed on and Mikel Merino equalised in the 84th minute. Less than 180 seconds later, another beautiful long-range goal, this time from Mateusz Cunha, secured the Red Devils' precious victory.

United are fourth in the standings with 38 points. Under new manager Michael Carrick, the team also beat Manchester City 2-0 just a week ago. Arsenal suffered their first defeat at home this season.
