CSKA won by a minimum of 1:0 at home against Slavia in the capital derby of the 22nd round in the First League. A late beautiful goal by reserve Alejandro Piedraita secured the fourth consecutive victory in all tournaments for the team led by coach Hristo Yanev, which climbed to third place in the provisional standings, BTA reported.
The first half passed with territorial superiority for the "Reds", who failed to seriously threaten the goal, guarded by Lev Ntumba.
In the seventh minute, Leandro Godoy received the ball from Bruno Jordao, but shot high over the goal. Three minutes later, Isaac Sole feinted the defense of the "Whites" and was on target, but the ball was caught by Ntumba.
After the middle of the first half, the hosts had significantly more possession of the ball, but mostly crossed and failed to create dangerous situations in Slavia's penalty area.
Three minutes after the break, Iliyan Stefanov shot inaccurately at the goal of the "reds". In the 50th minute, Mohamed Brahimi's cross was intercepted by Godoy, but Nikola Savic blocked his shot. Two minutes later, a dangerous shot by Isaac Sole went close to the left post.
Just before the hour mark, Godoy was headed wide, after which he was replaced by Ioannis Pitas.
In the 71st minute, Pitas' shot from 25 meters made it difficult for Ntumba, but the "whites" defense handled the situation. Nearly a quarter of an hour before the end of regular time, CSKA made a dangerous counterattack when Pitas and Piedraita found themselves alone against Ferrareso, but the Cypriot international advanced and shot past the post.
In the 82nd minute, reserves Petko Panayotov and Alejandro Piedraita combined and the Colombian striker, with an acrobatic performance, scored a beautiful goal into Slavia's goal.
In extra time, Panayotov and Ebong's attempts to score were acrobatically saved by Ntuma, and the match ended with an equalizer attempt by Kristian Balov.
"The Whites" suffered their third consecutive loss in 2026 and remain in seventh place in the standings, while CSKA broke a streak of five consecutive matches in the championship without success against "The Whites".
