Real Madrid defeated Atletico Madrid 3:2 in the spectacular “Madrileño“ derby. This allowed the “Kings“ to collect 69 points and come within 4 of the leader Barcelona. Diego Simeone's team is fourth with 57 points, Gong.bg reported.

After 13 minutes, Fede Valverde hit the post after a shot with his right foot. In the counterattack, Griezmann found Marcos Llorente, whose shot was saved by Andriy Lunin. The guests also asked for a penalty for a foul by Daniel Carvajal against Llorente, but the referee decided that there was no foul.

In the 34th minute, Atletico Madrid took the lead! Ademola Lookman found Ruggeri on the left, he passed to Giuliano Simeone, who technically laid the ball to Ademola Lookman and the Nigerian made no mistake from close range. In the 54th minute, Real Madrid were awarded a penalty! Braim Diaz burst into the penalty area, where he was fouled by David Hanchko. Behind the ball stood Vinicius Junior, who made no mistake, sending the goalkeeper into the other corner – 1:1.

After only 180 seconds, Real Madrid came to a complete turnaround. A big mistake by Ruggeri and Jimenez allowed Fede Valverde to take control and score with an outside layup – 2:1 for Real Madrid. However, Atletico did not give up, and Nauel Molina scored a unique goal! He fired a real projectile into the goal of Andriy Lunin, who had no way to intervene. In the 72nd minute, Real Madrid took the lead again! Substitute Trent Alexander-Arnold broke through well from the right and turned the flank, passing to Vinicius. With an elegant shot with his right foot, the Brazilian gave his team the lead again.

A very strange red card was given to Fede Valverde in the 77th minute. The Real Madrid captain stepped a little too roughly on Alex Baena's feet, for which he was sent off. As is known, the two have been teasing each other for 2 years, when Baena was still part of Villarreal. Until the end of the match, the “mattresses” pressed, but failed to score and the three points went to the asset of Alvaro Arbeloa's team.
