Liverpool have officially announced that they will part ways with Mohamed Salah at the end of the season. The Egyptian spent nine years at "Anfield", having a contract until the summer of 2027, but the two parties have agreed to end their cooperation earlier.
According to the statement from the Merseysiders, the player himself wanted this to be announced as soon as possible.
The 33-year-old Egyptian signed a new contract with the club in April, but since the start of this season he has not been in his usual form, which has led to him being left on the bench several times. He did not like this and after the draw with Leeds in December he accused the club of not keeping its promises. A conflict with manager Arne Slott followed.
However, Salah will leave with the status of a true Liverpool legend.
He joined the English giants from Roma in the summer of 2017 and has since played 435 games for the "Reds", in which he scored 255 goals. This makes the striker third in the ranking of the greatest scorers in the history of the club. Salah won two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup, two League Cups and the "Community Shield". He became the top scorer in the Premier League four times.
