Four rounds before the end of the German football championship, Bayern (Munich) is champion for the 35th time and this happened after today's convincing 4:2 home victory over Stuttgart. Thus, the Bavarians collect 79 points and lead by 15 over Borussia (Dortmund), who could have postponed the holidays for another week if they had won yesterday against Hoffenheim.
Bayern (Munich) is defending last year's title in a rather convincing way, after recording today its 25th victory in 30 matches and scoring 109 goals so far. The visitors from Stuttgart remain in 4th place with 56 points after the defeat, ahead of RB Leipzig, who are already in 3rd place.
And the visitors opened the scoring in the 21st minute through Chris Furich, who took a nice pass from El Hanous, advanced and shot low to send the ball into the goal of Jan Urbich.
But Bayern responded with three goals within six minutes and turned the tide from the 31st to the 37th minute with goals from Rafael Guerreiro, Nicholas Jackson and Alphonso Davies. Guerreiro equalized after taking a pass from Jamal Musiala in the air, and the ball bounced off the side post and entered the net.
Luis Diaz crossed to Jackson for 2-1, with the ball flying so close to the post that goalkeeper Alexander Nubel had nothing to do. Alphonso Davies headed in a 3-1 lead, and Musiala could have made it 4-1 before the end of the first half. His shot in added time in the first half hit the post and went out of play.
But in the 52nd minute, Harry Kane scored the fourth goal, his 32nd of the season. After that, Bayern slowed down significantly, apparently with the Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain in mind this week. However, Michael Oliseh twice missed to increase the lead for the Munich team.
The guests also had two chances, and they managed to reduce the second. Chema Anders scored a very beautiful addition, sending a volley under the post with 2:4 minutes left in regulation time.
