But just before it became 1:1, Samuele Angori, whose header caused a rebound and Canestrelli to add, could have made it 2:0. Left alone against goalkeeper Justin Baillou, however, he failed to score, after which the guests equalized.
Daniele De Rossi's men started the second half, putting enormous pressure on the hosts, with Lorenzo Colombo almost scoring. But in the 55th minute, Pisa's goal scorer Canestrelli touched the ball with his hand in his own penalty area, which meant a penalty. Colombo scored for 1:2, and a little later he could have made it 3:1. However, the Croatian goalkeeper of the hosts, Adrian Semper, made a masterful save.
Pisa has only one victory in its last 22 matches and a total of two throughout the championship, and together with Verona they hold the last two places, 10 points behind Cremonese, who is in the rescue zone. Genoa, with its third success in the last five matches, is currently ranked 13th with 39 points.
