Ronaldo shines in the Asian Champions League

The Portuguese star scored his eighth goal in the tournament this season

With goals from its three stars in attack - Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and John Duran, Saudi Al Nassr defeated Japanese Yokohama Marinos 4:1 in the quarterfinals of the Asian Champions League, BTA reported.

In Jeddah, the hosts from Al Nassr scored three goals before the break, which ensured their success and qualification for the semifinals.

Duran gave Al Nassr the lead in the 27th minute, and four later Mane made it 2:0 after an assist from Portuguese Otavio. In the 38th minute, the 40-year-old Ronaldo also scored, scoring his eighth goal in the tournament this season and his 33rd in total during the campaign. The Portuguese was in the right place to add to Marcelo Brozovic's strike.

In the 49th minute, John Duran scored his second goal of the match, but three minutes later Kota Watanabe pulled one back for Yokohama. However, the Japanese top scorer himself did not finish the match after receiving a second yellow card in the 73rd minute and leaving his team with a reduced squad.

In the semi-finals, which, like the final on May 3, will be played in Jeddah, Al Nassr will meet the winner of the pair between Japan's Kawasaki Frontale and Qatar's Al Sadd. In the other semi-final, two other teams from Saudi Arabia - Al Hilal and Al Ahly - will compete. Al Hilal won 7-0 against South Korea's Guangzhou, while Al Ahly prevailed 3-0 over Thailand's Buriram.
