Xabi Alonso, who is expected to be the new coach of Real Madrid, is looking for a midfielder with the profile of Toni Kroos. And Alonso has already found one in the face of Angelo Stiller (right) from Stuttgart. The midfielder is already part of the German national team, reports sportal.bg. The 24-year-old left midfielder would be much more affordable than two players who were reported to be in the sights of the team from the Spanish capital - Martin Subimendi (Real Sociedad), who is in advanced talks with Arsenal, and especially Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen), who is highly desired by Bayern and Manchester City.
Angelo Stiller has four caps for the German national team, led by Julian Nagelsmann, who used him as a starter in the last match of the “team“ (3:3) against Italy in the second leg of the “quarter-final” of the Nations League. The midfielder has remarkable statistics this season for Stuttgart - four goals and nine assists in 46 matches in the Champions League, Bundesliga, Cup and German Super Cup. And in total, in the 80 matches played in two seasons with the "Swabian" team, he scored five goals and gave 15 assists.
Stiller is a competitor to Pascal Gross (Dortmund) for a place in the national team, and his market value has increased sevenfold since August 2023, when Stuttgart bought him from Hoffenheim for 5.5 million euros.
According to the Spanish media, the transfer price would be around 40 million euros. Stiller grew up in the Bayern academy, but he only played in three matches for the Bavarians, and they were not from the Bundesliga! In 52 matches for Hoffenheim, he has 4 goals and 3 assists.
Liverpool also wants to attract the player, so the battle with Real will be quite fierce.
