Canada beats Slovakia at ice hockey world championship

Canada defeated Slovakia 7-0, as Sidney Crosby and Nathan McKinnon each scored two goals for their team's success at the men's ice hockey world championship in Stockholm, Sweden, BTA reports. Team Canada is second in Group A, behind undefeated Sweden, which has played one more game. Both teams have already secured their place in the quarterfinals.

Crosby added two assists, MacLean Celebrini scored a goal and made two assists, Brandon Monter had a goal and an assist, and Tyson Foerster also scored. Goalie Jordan Binnington stopped 14 shots for his second game without conceding a goal. Crosby and McKinnon reunited at the World Cup after a 10-year hiatus.

Denmark beat Norway 6-3 for their third win in Group B and are fifth in the standings with 9 points.
