Former Brazilian striker Ronaldo has sold his majority stake in Real Valladolid to a North American investment group, the Spanish football club announced.

Valladolid's relegation from La Liga was confirmed in April. With one match remaining, a visit to Leganes on Saturday, Valladolid are bottom of the table with 16 points after 29 losses. It would be Valladolid's third relegation since the 48-year-old Ronaldo became majority owner of the club in 2018.

Last year, Ronaldo, a World Cup winner with Brazil in 2002, sold his majority stake in Cruzeiro, the club where he began his career in men's football.
