Sunderland beat Sheffield United in the "match for 200 million pounds

Sunderland made a remarkable turnaround and returned to the Premier League

Sunderland defeated Sheffield United 2-1 in the final of the Championship play-offs and returned to the English Premier League after eight seasons in the lower divisions, BTA reported.

Sunderland made a remarkable turnaround and achieved success with a goal in added time by the reserve Tom Watson. The final play-off, played at "Wembley", is described as the “most expensive match in football”, as the winner of it is expected to secure an additional income of about 200 million pounds with their qualification to the Premier League.

Sheffield started the match excellently and withdrew with a goal advantage at the break after a precise goal by Tyrese Campbell in the 25th minute. Sunderland went on the attack more boldly in the second half and managed to equalize with a goal from Eliezer Mayenda equalized in the 76th minute.

In added time, the star moment came for 19-year-old Tom Watson, who took advantage of a poorly returned ball and with a technical shot on the grass into the bottom left corner, left no chance for the Sheffield goalkeeper. Six-time English champions Sunderland last played in the elite in the 2016/17 season.
