The two were recruited in early November 2024, but failed during the winter transfer window

CSKA will release the head of the scouting unit Metodi Tomanov and his assistant Radi Zdravkov after the end of the season, writes “Mach Telegraf“.

The two were recruited in early November 2024, but failed during the winter transfer window and failed to inject enough extra quality into the team. The only valuable addition from this transfer window was Ioannis Pitas, who, however, was targeted for recruitment in the summer.

The main problem was the indecision of the two to recommend players for recruitment. This ultimately led to late selection, delayed and even failed transfers. Despite the management's goal of having the main transfer line be from Latin America, as the two scouted players there, they ultimately offered players from... efbet Liga and a former footballer from the domestic championship playing in the Turkish elite.

Tomanov did a good job in his first seasons at Ludogorets, but was released after his last transfers were of players with questionable qualities, the highlight being the signing of striker Junior Brandao, for whom 1.5 million euros were paid. Just to clarify, in the last few years Brandao has been playing for Indonesian teams, and for a certain period he was even without a club.

In order for CSKA to pursue its high-profile goals, Paulo Noga, who worked for Paris Saint-Germain and Sporting Lisbon, was engaged, and he has an established network of contacts in Latin America and Africa. The places of Tomanov and Zdravkov will be occupied by foreigners, both of whom will most likely be from the Iberian Peninsula.
