Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah confirmed that he was indeed close to a transfer to Saudi Arabia, BTA reported.
“I thought it was a good opportunity to join the Saudi league. I believed that I could have gone there if I had not extended my contract with Liverpool. My relations with the people in Saudi Arabia are still good. There were serious talks about my signing“, quotes the Egyptian footballer as saying by On Sport.
At the same time, Salah denied the information that he was in talks with Barcelona and Real Madrid. Salah was named the best player of the 2024/25 season in the Premier League. The 32-year-old Egyptian made 38 appearances, scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists as Liverpool won the title.
