Tottenham and Man Utd in race for Mbemo

Tottenham and Manchester United are battling it out for the signature of Brentford striker Brian Mbemo (right). New Tottenham manager Thomas Frank - who has been in charge of Brentford until now - wants to bring Mbemo to London. United have already expressed an interest in the striker, who scored 20 goals for Brentford last season, but is about to enter the final year of his contract.

The striker's contract with Brentford runs for another year and the club are reportedly asking around £62.5m for Mbemo.

At the moment, United appear to be in the lead to bring Mbemo to "Old Trafford", but Tottenham are ready to try to reunite the Cameroon international with his old manager.
