Inter to miss Taremi's Club World Cup

Inter Milan striker Mehdi Taremi will not play in the Club World Cup in the United States because he is stranded in Tehran amid the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, the AP reported.

Flights from all Iranian airports have been canceled after Iran and Israel exchanged military strikes over the past two days.
The Iranian international was unable to board his scheduled flight on Saturday to join his Inter teammates in Los Angeles, BTA added.

Taremi will miss Inter's opening match against Monterrey on Wednesday, and Italian media reported that the 32-year-old will not play in the remaining matches, regardless of whether Iranian airspace reopens.
Taremi joined the Inter from Porto last year.
