Taylor Fritz broke Alexander Zverev and won his first title of the year, after defeating him 6:3, 7:6(0) in the final of the men's tennis tournament in Stuttgart, which has a prize fund of 751 thousand euros, BTA reports. Thus, the American continued his winning streak against the German in a fifth consecutive match.

Fritz, who eliminated Zverev in the fourth round of "Wimbledon" last year, won the first set in 30 minutes and did not allow his opponent to reach a breakthrough play. The American, seeded No. 2, reached a tiebreak in the second set and was perfect on his own serve, while Zverev allowed three minibreaks for the final 7-0.

Fritz is now 8-5 in his career against Zverev, who has yet to win a grass-court title. The three-time Grand Slam finalist has never even advanced past the fourth round at Wimbledon.

Fritz will climb to No. 4 in the rankings ahead of the Grand Slam in Britain, which begins June 30.
