Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan ended his great week with a victory in the final over Russian Daniil Medvedev, which guaranteed him the title of the tennis tournament on grass in the German city of Halle ATP 500, BTA reported.

This is the fifth singles title in the career of the Russian-born player, which will bring him nearly 472 thousand euros from the prize fund of the tournament and a return to the Top 30 of world tennis.

Bublik defeated Medvedev 6:3, 7:6 (4) in a little more than an hour and 20 minutes on the court. The 28-year-old had an excellent week, defeating Frenchman Alexander Muller, world number 1 Yannick Sinner from Italy, powerful Czech Tomasz Mahach and Russian Karen Khachanov in the semifinals.

In the first set, everything was even until the eighth game, in which Bublik made a breakthrough with ease, and then ended the set with his serve.

The second set was much more difficult, as at 5:4 for Medvedev, Bublik saved a set point for the Russian on his own serve. Thus, he tied, and then reached a tiebreak. In it, Medvedev again had a better start, pulling the score to 4:1. However, Bulbik made six consecutive points with two breaks and finished the match, falling to his knees in joy after his triumph.
