Bulgaria won the medal standings at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships for Girls in Sofia, BNR reported.
Our national team won a total of six awards – four gold and two bronze medals. Raya Bozhilova, Ioana Moteva, Anania Dimitrova, Gabriela Traykova, Ivayla Velkovska and Elena Hristova became world champions in the all-around, as well as in the five-hoop final. In the final with five pairs of clubs, the ensemble won a bronze medal.
The ensemble, together with individual competitors Magdalena Valkova, Anastasia Kaleva and Alexa Rasheva, defended their title in the team competition at the championship in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) in 2023. In the apparatus finals, Magdalena Valkova became the world champion in hoop and bronze medalist in ribbon.
In second place in the medal standings was Kazakhstan with three awards - two golds for Akmaral Yerkesheva from the ball and ribbon finals, and a silver medal in hoop.
Third in the standings is Ukraine with two awards. The competitors of Irina Deryugina and Irina Blokhina won gold in the ensembles in the final with five pairs of clubs and bronze in the all-around.
Following them are Kyrgyzstan, Brazil, Egypt, Italy, the USA, China, Poland, Estonia, Georgia and Uzbekistan.
A total of 13 countries won medals from the championship on the planet out of 69 participating countries, and the awards awarded were 25.
