Bulgaria's national team for the "Davis" Cup; Alexander Donski qualified for the doubles quarterfinals of the clay tennis tournament from the "Challenger" series in Brasov (Romania) with a prize fund of 91,250 euros, sportal.bg reported.
Donski and Siddhanth Banthia (India), fourth seeded, defeated S D Prayawal Dev and Nitin Kumar Sinha (India) 5:7, 6:2, 10:7 in 1:38 hour.
In the decisive third set, they led 6:3, allowed a tie at 6:6, but took four of the next five points and closed the match.
Thus, the Bulgarian and the Indian earned 16 points for the world ranking in duets and 460 euros each. Their opponents for a place in the semifinals will be announced later today.
Yesterday, Donski achieved his third consecutive victory and reached the second round of singles after starting in the qualifiers.
