Bulgaria with first success at the U19 Women's Volleyball World Championship

Bulgaria achieved its first victory during the U19 Women's Volleyball World Championship, BNR reported.

In a match from Group "C" of the championship in the Croatian city of Osijek, the Bulgarian team defeated Spain 3:0 (25:19, 25:22, 25:21).

At the beginning of the first game, the Bulgarian team took a 5:3 lead after a series of four points. The Iberian team tied the score at 7:7, and for a long time the score was in both directions. The opponent also had its moments and led by 16:14. The decisive point for the half was the draw 18:18. After that, Bulgaria scored five consecutive points and decided the outcome.

The second half started evenly, but then the Spanish team took an 8:4 lead. The Bulgarian team demonstrated character and achieved a turnaround to 9:8. By the end of the half, the score was completely in favor of the Bulgarians.

The third game was the most even. Almost the entire time, none of the teams could take a serious lead. In the last minutes of the match, Bulgaria twice scored two consecutive points.

The Bulgarian team, led by coach Atanas Petrov, faces Turkey on Friday at 4:15 p.m. The Turks lost earlier today to Poland 0:3.
