Francesco Farioli has taken over at Porto. The former Ajax head coach will lead the Portuguese team on a two-year contract, BTA reports. Farioli left Ajax in May after his team failed to win a record 37th Eredivisie title.
The Italian previously guided Nice to fifth place in Ligue 1 in the 2023/2024 season and has also coached Turkish teams Fatih Karagümruk and Alanyaspor.
Francesco Farioli replaces Martin Anselmi, who was fired after the team was eliminated in the group stage of the Club World Cup. Porto finished third in the Portuguese championship last season, 9 points behind Sporting.
