English football club Liverpool and German club Eintracht Frankfurt have reached an agreement for striker Hugo Ekitike and he will move to "Anfield" for a transfer worth 80 million euros, Sky Sports reports. The amount could rise to 90 million euros if various clauses are met, BTA reported.
Liverpool pushed ahead with talks with Frankfurt earlier this week after the Merseyside club failed to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle. The "Magpies" consider the Swedish international their best player and are unwilling to sell him.
Ekitike, 23, did not play in Eintracht's friendly against FSV Frankfurt on Saturday. After the match, the head coach of the elite team told Sky Germany that the Frenchman will most likely leave and that this is a "big loss" for the club.
Ekitike scored 22 goals in 48 games in all competitions last season, in which Frankfurt earned a place in the Champions League.
