Grigor Dimitrov will not take part in the US Open 2025, sportal.bg reported. The news was confirmed to "Teniscafe" by his manager Georgi Stoimenov.
The reason is related to his recovery following the injury he suffered at "Wimbledon".
As is known, Dimitrov has a partial tear of the pectoralis major muscle. Initial hopes were that with a quick recovery he would be able to play in the last Grand Slam tournament.
At the moment, however, it is clear that Grigor will not be 100% ready to participate in New York, so he will miss the tournament in which he played a quarterfinal last year. This ends his record streak (among active tennis players) of 58 consecutive appearances in "majors".
At the moment, the hopes are that Dimitrov will return to play for the tournaments in China in late September and early October, as his condition is being actively monitored.
