Oscar Piastre won pole position in the Dutch Formula 1 Grand Prix. This became a fact after a contested battle with his McLaren teammate Lando Norris. The Australian has a nine-point lead over the Briton before the race in Zandvoort, BTA reports.
Norris was the champion in free practice in the Netherlands, and the dominance of the McLaren drivers continued in qualifying. Piastre was fastest in the first session, then was replaced by Norris, but in the third he returned to the top with 1:08.662 minutes.
Norris tried to take the lead in the final laps, but had to settle for second place and a deficit of 0.012 seconds. Max Verstappen, on the other hand, finished third and will start alongside Isaac Ajar, who set a personal best with a fourth-place finish for the Racing Bulls.
