Penalty saves Manchester United against Burnley

Bruno Fernandes scored from the penalty spot in the seventh minute of added time and Manchester United defeated Burnley 3-2 for their first win of the season in the Premier League, BTA reports. So far, the "Red Devils" had a draw with Fulham and a loss to Manchester City, and during the week the team was eliminated from the Carabao Cup by outsiders Grimsby.

United took the lead in the 27th minute when Casemiro intercepted Fernandes' cross and sent the ball into the crossbar. However, it returned to the field and hit Josh Cullen, who scored an own goal.

The score remained 1-0 in favor of United at half-time, but the drama was yet to come. The hosts made many mistakes again and were penalised in the 56th minute by Lyle Foster, but Brian Mbemo gave the "Red Devils" the lead again just two minutes later.

Jaden Anthony equalised again in the 67th minute, and Fernandes became a hero for his team in the seventh minute of added time. The author of Burnley's second goal brought down Amad Diallo in the penalty area and United were awarded a penalty, which Fernandes converted to make it 3-2. Thus, he partially avenged the mistake against Fulham a week ago.

Tottenham, on the other hand, suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 0-1 to Bournemouth at home. The visitors were the better team for most of the match and came away with a goal from Evanilsson in the fifth minute.

Everton recorded their second win in three games after they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-2 away today. Beto, Ilman Ndiaye and new signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall were on target for the "caramels".

In another match of the round, Sunderland beat Brentford 2-1 and climbed to sixth place with six points. The visitors are 12th with three.
