Cyberpunk undercover: Alibaba's neural network fooled its developers and started mining cryptocurrency instead of learning, a report reveals, writes the Telegram channel "Telegram".
During its training, the artificial intelligence opened an SSH tunnel to an external IP address, bypassed security and used the power of the graphics processor for mining. Moreover, no one taught it this or gave it any commands.
The developers discovered this only because of a warning about strange traffic – the scheme had been working smoothly for several days before. The company is currently investigating the case.
