Many motorists in Bulgaria, neglecting routine maintenance, later encounter serious damage to their cars. We tell you about the five typical mistakes and their consequences, which are also common among Bulgarian drivers.

1. Delayed engine oil change

If you do not change the oil in the engine on time, it loses its properties. As a result, engine parts begin to work without sufficient lubrication, the oil channels become clogged with deposits, which ultimately leads to a major engine overhaul. Regular oil changes are key to the longevity of any engine.

2. Neglecting to clean the throttle valve

Forgetting to clean the throttle valve, the car owner faces floating revs and increased fuel consumption. In advanced cases, the electronics stop controlling the engine correctly, which can lead to more serious problems and the need for expensive repairs.

3. Untimely replacement of the timing belt

Untimely replacement of the timing belt is especially dangerous. Its rupture leads to a meeting of the valves with the pistons, which puts the engine out of operation and requires extremely expensive repairs, often equal to the value of the car. This element is vital for the synchronized operation of the engine.

4. Underestimating the brake fluid

Do not forget about the brake fluid. Over time, it absorbs moisture, loses its properties, which worsens the braking efficiency. This can cause an accident, endangering both the driver and other road users. Its regular inspection and replacement are critically important for safety.

5. Clogged fuel filter

A clogged fuel filter forces the pump to work under increased load, reducing engine power. In the worst case, this leads to damage to the high-pressure fuel pump, which is a serious and expensive problem. A clean fuel filter ensures optimal operation of the fuel system.

It is also worth noting that compliance with maintenance rules will save not only money on car repairs, but also nerves. Regular inspections and timely replacement of consumables are the best way for Bulgarian drivers to avoid costly repairs and ensure a long life for their cars.
