Engineer Ken Pilonel, known for his innovative accessories for Apple products, has developed a revolutionary case for older iPhone models. This Smart Case doesn't just protect your phone, it replaces the Lightning port with a fully functional USB-C connector. The product is no longer just a concept - it's available for purchase, allowing you to "upgrade" your iPhone without modifications.
iPh0n3: Functionality without compromise
The accessory, called the iPh0n3, allows this transformation without having to modify the smartphone itself. Simply place your iPhone in the case. The built-in adapter is fully functional, supporting data transfer to a computer and fast charging. In addition, the iPh0n3 is equipped with MagSafe magnets, a strap hole, and a slot for storing an additional SIM card.
Limitations and future plans
"I guarantee the following: fast charging, data transfer to computers, and CarPlay. Everything else is not officially supported, and unfortunately you have to remove the case to do so. This is because Apple has blocked the functionality of adapters for phones with a Lightning connector so that they can take a commission on all adapters sold," Pilonel told The Verge.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max case is now available for sale in Switzerland for up to $62.
