A fire at the Kirishi oil refinery in northwestern Russia, which broke out as a result of falling debris from a downed drone, has been extinguished, Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko said, as quoted by Reuters.
Drozdenko said there were no injuries.
The "Kirishinefteorgsintez" refinery, owned by "Surgutneftegaz", is one of the two largest refineries in Russia. It processes about 17.7 million tons of Russian crude oil annually (355,000 barrels per day), or 6.4% of the country's total.
Air defense systems destroyed three Ukrainian drones in the area of the city of Kirishi, Drozdenko was quoted as saying by TASS.
