The US military has sunk a third suspected drug trafficking boat off the coast of Venezuela. This was revealed by US President Donald Trump, quoted by the "New York Post".

"We actually sank three boats, not two, but you saw two", he explained to the White House, after yesterday releasing footage of three suspected drug smugglers who died in a US air strike after killing 11 people on a boat on September 2. "And the problem is, there are very few boats in the water. There are not many boats in the water. I can't imagine why", Trump added.

He called on Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to "stop sending the "Tren de Aragua" in the United States, to stop sending drugs into the United States".

It was not clear whether Trump was referring to yesterday's strikes against suspected drug traffickers in international waters, an earlier operation in early September, or both. The U.S. government has not released further details about the people aboard the boats.
