Bulgaria will produce weapons and shells for Ukraine, reports Ukrainian TV FREEDOM, citing an article by DW.

At the end of August, the German defense company „Rheinmetall“ announced that it would build a new ammunition plant in Bulgaria for 1 billion euros. A significant part of the ammunition will be produced for the Ukrainian army, and the European Union will pay for the supplies.

It is expected that the ammunition factories in Bulgaria, along with Germany, to play a key role in arming Ukraine.

At the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Bulgaria quickly transferred Soviet-era weapons to the attacked country, which the Ukrainian army was able to use immediately. Sofia kept these supplies secret for a long time, fearing sabotage by Russia.

It is no longer a secret that Bulgaria will help the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The ammunition will pass through Romania, and why not through the western waters of the Black Sea.

Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey will increase their presence in the Black Sea due to the threat posed by Russia. This includes the creation of a joint naval mine clearance group, Ukrainian television reports.
