Japan will not recognize Palestine during UN meeting

Tokyo supports two-state solution, but does not plan to make a decision this month

Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya said that the country does not plan to recognize a Palestinian state during the upcoming UN General Assembly session, Reuters quoted, BTA reports.

He specified that the question of recognizing Palestine for Japan is not whether, but when such a decision should be taken, emphasizing the country's support for a two-state solution to the conflict in the Middle East.
